Race to Greatness by Polo Ralph Lauren
I implemented a system to display the player's progression towards the finish line on the UI as a total percentage, as well as their placement in the race (1st, 2nd etc). The system calculated the distance between each of the checkpoints and how close the player was to the next checkpoint, and sorted the players by distance to display their current placement. This UI element was also used at the end of the race to display the player's total time, so that they could share it on social media.
I also created a sophisticated respawn system that triggered if players got stuck for a few seconds. The player's vehicle was teleported to the closest available position on the track before reassigning them as the driver, ensuring that there'd be no collision issues with other players' vehicles.
