Bermuda Run
While I was playing around with devices in Fortnite Creative, my friend was working on a deathrun and reached out to me asking if I could implement a mechanic that she wanted. The mechanic involved teleporting all players back to the start of each level if any of them failed, which was a novel feature at the time due to the low number of available devices and channels. I implemented this for the deathrun, which was played in duos, and it made the levels very satisfying due to both players needing to perfect their runs on the same attempt to proceed.
I also injected a lot of my own humour in the game, including a grappler section where, if failed, players would be teleported into a room that sarcastically teaches them how to use a grappler. This required a special mechanic to not be overbearing, wherein you would only be teleported to this room the first time you failed, while subsequent times you were simply eliminated.
